In the United States today there are more people than ever who are suffering from all sorts of chronic health problems such as diabetes, heart attacks, strokes, osteoporosis, arthritis, asthma, cancer and obesity.A lot of these health problems stem from what is called – Lifestyle Induced. In other words, because of of a person’s lifestyle they can either promote good health or bad health. If an individual smokes, drinks alcohol excessively, eats a lot of fast foods, processed foods such as white flour and rice, sugars, (doughnuts, cakes, candies, ice cream) bad fat and excessive amounts of fats, fried foods, sodas, excess coffee, with or without caffeine, sits too much (TV, videos, computer), gets little if any exercise regularly, fails to get the proper amount of sleep and rest and fails to get the proper amount of healthy clean water and proper nutrition daily, the person is actually promoting an excellent foundation for disease to set in. (See information in links below.)

The reason there are so many adverse drug events in the U.S. is that so many drugs are used and prescribed – and many patients receive multiple prescriptions at varying strengths, some of which may counteract each other or cause more severe reactions when combined.

Adverse drug reactions cause injuries or death in one of five hospital patients.

As a result of this escalating rise of chronic health problems people continue to go to the medical community expecting them to prescribe a magic pill to cure their health issues. The fact of he matter is, the United States health care system is the worst in the world and prescribes more drugs and performs more unneeded medical procedures than any other country and is fast becoming the leading cause of harm and death in the United States.

The best health care system in the world? Nonsense!
Death by Medicine PDF
Annual Causes of Death in the United States

The authors of this study examined records that covered the years from 1976 to 2006 and they discovered that, of 62 million death certificates, almost a quarter-million deaths were coded as having occurred in a hospital setting due to medication errors.

An estimated 450,000 preventable medication-related adverse events occur in the U.S. every year.

The costs of adverse drug reactions to society are more than $136 billion annually — greater than the total cost of cardiovascular or diabetic care.

Merck to Pay $950 Million in Vioxx Settlement
With a long list of deaths to its credit, and more than $5.5 billion in judgments and fines levied against it, it was five years before Merck made its $30-billion recall of the painkiller Vioxx that I warned my readers that it might be a real killer for some people. After the drug was withdrawn, and 60,000 had already died, Merck picked up the pieces painlessly by getting a new drug fast-tracked and on the market. That drug is Gardasil, a vaccine that so far has been linked to thousands of adverse events and at least 49 unexplained deaths. It’s a situation that the FDA and CDC have been denying repeatedly, keeping their heads buried in the sand even as the adverse reports mount.

Dozens of recalls of products that caused deaths and injuries, at least 11 different guilty pleas to fraud and illegal sales activity, more than 200 lawsuits – many of them stemming from selling AIDS-tainted blood to hemophiliacs – and more than $1.3 billion in criminal fines and civil penalties.

In the largest health care fraud settlement in history, Pfizer was ordered to pay $2.3 billion to resolve criminal and civil allegations that the company illegally promoted uses of four of its drugs, including the painkiller Bextra, the antipsychotic Geodon, the antibiotic Zyvox, and the anti-epileptic Lyrica.

To Be Healthy One Has to Live A Healthy Lifestyle

In order to promote good health one must live a healthy, or healthful, lifestyle. It is everyone’s responsibility to learn about and implement a program of care that will give you the best opportunity for good health and a quality of life that you can enjoy throughout your entire life so that your older years will not be one of misery. What does that mean? I know many people have heard this adage before about the car and how if it isn’t taken care of with oil changes, proper fuel, tune-ups and regular maintenance as prescribed by the manufacturer, it will start to breakdown and fall apart, eventually no longer able to run. But the fact of the matter is, that is exactly what happens to the human body when it is not maintained properly – it just plain flat begins breaking down until you no longer can move properly and, or, suffer in horrible misery and pain until you die.

Recommendations to Promote a Healthy Life

To prevent this from happening we at Healthful Balance® recommend living a healthful lifestyle that would be made up of the following:

Raw Foods

Eating a diet made up of foods that are unprocessed as much as possible. Fresh fruits and vegetables with emphasis on fresh vegetables. Keep canned foods down as much as possible.

Whole Grains

Whole grains not boxed cereals, including the so-called healthy cereals sold in health foods stores. We’re talking about real grains that you cook such as rice, quinoa, amaranth, buckwheat and millet.

Reduce Meat

Reduce the intake of red meat, unless you are eating lamb, Bison or cattle raised on grass and free of hormones and other chemicals. When eating any form of animal, such as chicken and turkey make sure it is organic and free of chemicals and hormones.

Cage Free Eggs

Eggs are fine but try to find free range eggs where they are fed healthy foods and are free of chemicals.

Avoid processed oils and fats which includes Canola oil. Some good oils are Unprocessed Sesame Seed Oil and Olive Oil.

Butter is Better

Use real butter and avoid all types of butter substitutes such as margarine.

Not Milk?

Keep dairy to a minimum, or avoid it altogether. If you want to use some cheeses it is better to use those made from lamb or sheep called fetta. For milk you can use almond or coconut milk. Avoid soy milk.

Exercise regularly each week. There should be exercises that promote healthy muscle tone and strength, bone health and flexibility. Also, you should perform an exercise that will promote good cardiovascular health and stamina such as using a treadmill, an elliptic machine, or just plain good old fast walking. I do not recommend running as it is not necessary to elicit good cardiovascular fitness.

Healthful Balance® – Manufacturer of High Quality Functional Supplements

Now we come to what our company is about. We are a company dedicated to making supplements that are truly beneficial and effective. While there are many supplement manufacturers in the United States we are working hard to provide supplements that, while unique, offer the latest latest scientific nutritional research that have come about over the many years due to a more complete understanding of how the body takes in and utilizes the many nutrients and co-factors found in the food we consume.

It is important to understand that some forms of the nutrients put into supplements are very difficult for the human body to utilize and some can even contribute to health problems. To read about some these differences please read about Healthful-Bone™ and Healthful – Flex™.

When putting anything into your body you must make sure that it will do no harm. Otherwise, you are merely contributing to the body’s stress of having to deal with it and contributing to your health problems.

Please take a few moments and look around and if you have any questions you can send them to me from the Contact Us page, or call 855-888-2211
